Trials in Anime Duelists

Clear world gates, earn reroll materials, and unlock the next anime realm.

Last updated:

Trials in Anime Duelists on Roblox are structured combat challenges that sit between story progress and the next battle world. Toonrise Studios uses them as gear checks: your equipped fighters, traits, and stats must meet a minimum bar before the portal opens. Trials also pay concentrated rewards — Trait Rerolls, Stat Rerolls, Gems, and progression tokens — that are slower to farm on the open map.

This guide covers when to attempt Trials, how to prepare after Mythical and Secret Units, and how Trial rewards feed Traits and Stats without wasting items.

What Trials are

Each major world exposes a Trial gate once you satisfy local story or quest requirements. Entering launches a self-contained encounter: waves of enemies, a timer, or a boss rush variant depending on the world tier. Success unlocks the next realm’s Star banner, teleport network, and sometimes exclusive vendors.

Failure does not delete progress, but it wastes time and boost windows. Treat Trials like exam day — prepare off-line, attempt once you are confident.

Trials differ from casual battle farming. Map mobs scale with your over-level advantage; Trials normalize pressure so a team that steamrolls World 1 still needs thoughtful traits.

When to attempt your first Trial

Follow this readiness list before touching World 2’s gate:

  1. At least one Mythical hatched in World 1 — non-negotiable for most free accounts per Mythical and Secret Units.
  2. Trait Rerolls applied to that Mythical until the combat trait is usable, not perfect.
  3. Extra Equip slots filled with your best Legendaries or Epics as placeholders until more Mythicals arrive. Extra Equip is ranked on the Game Passes tier list.
  4. Active boosts from Codes — Damage, EXP, or Luck potions if the Trial allows consumables.
  5. Auto Hatch off during the attempt if UI clutter distracts you; re-enable after for farming per Getting Started.

Spenders with Multi Open and Fast Open may hit Mythical faster, but Trials still expect trait discipline. Do not enter with a raw Legendary squad.

Trial rewards and why they matter

Clearing Trials typically grants:

  • Bundled Trait Rerolls and Stat Rerolls
  • Gems toward Game Passes in Gems and Game Passes
  • World keys or teleport access to the next hub
  • Occasionally mount or cosmetic tokens tied to quest arcs

Because rerolls are scarce, Trial payouts are the safest mid-game income after code redemptions. Chain Trial clears whenever a new world opens, then immediately reinvest rerolls into your Mythical core — not into fodder units.

World 2 and the Stat NPC connection

Beating World 2’s Trial unlocks the Stat NPC near the teleport hub. Many players rush the Trial, arrive in World 2, and dump Stat Rerolls before traits are stable. Reverse the order: trait fix on World 1 Mythical, Trial clear, then stat tune at the NPC as detailed in Traits and Stats.

World 2’s Star pool introduces higher base power. If Trials feel impossible, return to World 1 with Auto Hatch until a second Mythical or stronger support hatch appears.

Team building for Trials

Damage ceiling: Your Mythical ultimate should delete priority targets before the timer expires. Compare power levels on Players if unsure which fighter to lead.

Trait synergy: Proc-based traits outperform flat stats when waves spawn quickly. Save rerolls for the Mythical slot first.

Bench depth: Trials sometimes disable idle helpers or cap equipped count. Know your roster without relying on single-unit cheese.

Boost alignment: Stack code boosts from Codes with any owned Luck or Damage passes from the Game Passes tier list. Pop boosts immediately before entry so duration is not wasted on menu time.

Repeat Trials and later worlds

Higher worlds add new Trial variants with tighter timers and rarer payouts. The loop repeats:

  • Camp banner until Mythical.
  • Reroll traits.
  • Clear Trial.
  • Stat tune at the local NPC.
  • Resume Auto Hatch in the new world.

Check Updates after patches — Toonrise Studios adjusts Trial difficulty and rewards when new fighters launch.

Do not skip quests just because Trials exist. Quest chains in Getting Started still fund Multi Open savings in Gems and Game Passes.

Failure recovery

If you fail:

  • Identify whether damage, survivability, or time was the issue.
  • Spend Trait Rerolls only on the Mythical anchor.
  • Farm codes on Codes for more boosts.
  • Avoid Scripts that promise auto-clear — Roblox enforcement is aggressive.
  • Reattempt after one more Mythical or Extra Equip purchase.
